A big thanks to The Home Depot Foundation for a $5000.00 grant to help repair homes for Veterans in our community. Our Brush with Kindness program helps low-income homeowners in preserving their home-ownership by focusing on exterior home repair services. Habitat for Humanity understands that when basic expenses exceed income month after month, home maintenance is the usual casualty. Years of deferred maintenance can cause a downward spiral of home deterioration and unsafe living conditions.
In 2012, Home Depot associates completed 550 volunteer projects across the country specifically to help veterans, from building wheelchair ramps and renovating the homes of wounded warriors to repairing and remodeling transitional housing for homeless veterans.
Through this generous grant from The Home Depot Foundation, Payson Habitat will have the money needed to make repairs on 9 Veteran applicants homes. You are also encouraged to join us in helping those who have served us.
Brush with Kindness applications are available at the Payson Area Habitat for Humanity offices located inside the Habitat ReStore at 103 E. Highway 260, next to the Urgent Care Center, and on this website. If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us at (928) 474-0330 Mon-Fri 10am-5pm.
